SAP and VEGA form partnership
Cologne and Walldorf, 10 November
2008. Collaboration strengthens market position in the
education sector.
SAP Deutschland and VEGA Deutschland have
forged a partnership, under which the two companies will
collaborate with respect to marketing and implementation of the SAP
industry solution SAP Student Lifecycle Management (SAP SLCM).
Users of this solution include universities and colleges, as well
as research institutions and companies in the education sector.
VEGA Deutschland managing director, Manfred
Müller remarked as follows as to the potential of this new
partnership: "The joining together of these two companies brings
clear benefits to the customer: VEGA will contribute its extensive
organizational and process consulting expertise in the college and
university sector, while SAP brings its considerable expertise as a
market leader for state-of-the-art business software to the
table."
The companies plan to collaborate in the
development, marketing and implementation of the product portfolio.
The functional spectrum of SAP SLCM includes student management,
school administration, curriculum management, test management and
student bookkeeping. This strategic partnership has already been
implemented in an actual project at the Technical College of
Frankfurt am Main, in the course of which a reference system was
developed which can be used to introduce SAP SLCM elsewhere. This
system includes the standard SAP SLCM software, which features a
portal structure through which users can access core processes. In
addition to an introductory template, a modular standard project
model is included, and adaptors for the migration and integration
of standard applications round out the system.
Hans-Peter Kolb, Marketing Manager for
