A degree educated software engineer with experience in Microsoft SQL Server and Active Server Pages.

 

Objective

To support the European Astronaut Centre in the development and maintenance of their Astronaut Training Development and Implementation System.

 

Responsibilities / Duties

Under the astronaut training unit of the EAC, the post holder will be responsible for development, maintenance, administration and documentation of the Astronaut Training Development and Implementation System (ATD). This includes also the ATD Server (Web & FTP) operations & maintenance, administration of the SQL Server Database and User Accounts.

Beside the more technical oriented tasks, the post holder shall also support the training unit in the creation and maintenance of training templates, reports and documents (MS-Excel / MS-Word) based on data stored in the ATD Database.

The post holder will also be responsible for providing User Training to new system users. For this he/she will participate to an in-house instructor training course.

 

Qualifications / Experience

 

Applicants should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in the field of software engineering and in in-depth knowledge of web application development, deployment and security.

The working language is English. A good knowledge in both spoken and written form is required for this position.

 

Essential Skills

  • Programming skills:
    • ASP, ASP.NET, HTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, VBA
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Sound proficiency in Microsoft Office, incl. MS Access
  • Mastery of the English language, in both spoken and written form

 

Desirable Skills

Experience in working in an international environment.

 

Qualities

  • Excellent communication, teamwork
  • Can work independently and well organised
